Sunday July 01 @ 12:00PM - Tuesday July 31 @ 06:00PM
Where’s Waldo? In Ankeny of course! The iconic children’s book character in the red-and-white-striped shirt and black-rimmed specs is visiting local businesses throughout our community this July. Find Waldo Local is a great summer vacation activity and a wonderful way to support local businesses and the Shop Local movement in our community, including Plot Twist Bookstore, Treasure House Gifts and Porchlight Coffeehouse.
Anyone who wishes to participate can pick up a “Find Waldo Local in Ankeny!” passport, which contains the names of all the participating sites, and get their passport stamped or signed for each Waldo they spot. And to make things a little more challenging, Waldo and his friends have each dropped a precious item in Plot Twist Bookstore. These items can be spotted as well. Collecting store stamps or signatures at twenty or more businesses will entitle diligent seekers entry into a grand-prize drawing on August 2 at 5:00 pm, with the top prize being an eight-volume set of Waldo books.

Book Signing with John Carenen
Tuesday August 28 | 5:00PM - 7:00PM
He'd promised Sheriff Payne that he wouldn't take any more matters into his own hands. So, when on a leisurely morning drive, SEAL-trained Thomas O'Shea sees two girls attacking a boy on a sidewalk, he opts not to intervene. When the boy is later murdered in the local hospital, though, all promises are off. What seems at the start to be a simple case of gang activity turns out to be far more. Even O'Shea, who has seen more than his share of evil, could not have guessed what is about to transpire.
